Hello!

I just registered and read this is the best place for Z4 information, and friends :)

I've never owned a BMW, but I always admired the 8-series and then I saw the Z4 (E85/E86) model. I've always owned Miata's which are great cars don't get me wrong, but I want a Z4 now. I've looked on the internet and its very vague for information on the Z4, so I'm hoping this forum can help me get my dream car.

What I could gather is, many different engine applications from 2.0 to 3.0 and the 3.2 in the Z4 M edition. I really like the tail lights in the 2003-04 years. Can you tell me the difference in between the years, which is the best engine/model, recalls, what to watch for? Can you tell me more specs on the Z4 models basically because I'm not getting real good info on the net.

Also, what is a good site for aftermarket mods for this car? I'm very interested in learning more.

I guess I should add, my name is Tiffany Fleming. I live right outside of Louisville, Kentucky. I'm 25 years old and on my spare time yes, I am a gear head. I look forward to meeting local people as well.

most on here prefer the 3.0ltr and if your budget can stretch go for the face lift option

check out AlanJ, in his signature there is a good buyers guide
 
I like more power and I'm used to the 6spd option. I would like to stay with the most performance application available and I'm assuming it's the 3.0? Of course the 3.2 if you can find one.

You will be looking for either a 2.5, 3.0 or 3.2 M as the 2.0 and 2.2 were not sold in the US.
