Hi Folks,

just bought a 2011 Z4 sDrive23i M Sport Highline Edition, and boy is it fun.

Whilst the temperature may be have been -4.5 Being out with the top down was a scream, and gathered many a strange look, but Hey - I was warm and quite impressed with the wind protection.

Now I know I have a lot of reading to do (currently running searches), and maybe will want to do a little bit of farkling too. But in the short term the things I find I am missing are as follows:


  • cruise control
  • parking sensors (Big long bonnet)



So having been quoted many beer tokens for cruise to be fitted, and the GNP of a small african country for the parking sensors, can I ask are there any recommendations here for aftermarket variations of said products, and people who can fit them?

Personally I think the parking sensors are the biggest want for me at the moment as I don't wish to ding or scratch the car, and I'd like front and rear sensors (or maybe a camera system)

does anyone have any recommendations?

Looking forward to reading more and enjoying the car.

Can't help you with parking sensors but cruise control is a DIY job costing about £70-£80 for parts
 
The E89 defo needs parking sensors, don't care what anyone says, the front end is really long. But I also think,any car you get used to having them on, you will always want for them
 
Dave I'm close to Richmond on the M3 if you fancy a run up and a small E89 meet!!

There was a post , late Dec I think, about a groupon style parking sensor aftermarket kit less than £100. Can't be more specific but the search function on the forum is amazing!
 
Thanks for the warm welcome. I'm also a bike rider (motor and mountain) and the welcome here is as warm as that on the GS web site….. THANKS :D

I've read through many of the posts on cruise control (I know SeArCh is my friend :oops: ) and the addition seems really simple, but doesn't that apply to the earlier model and not the E89?

Parking sensors…… I'll keep looking. Groupon search next

Hi and welcome :)

PDC - you can retrofit as suggested

Cruise Control - You cannot retrofit on E89 as has been discussed here before I am afraid, it was possible on E85 and E86.
