Hi Guys, thought I'd introduce myself.

I'm Dan from Melbourne Australia and this is my 07 Z4MC bought back in May this year.

Being a car detailer I'm fairly finicky with the car and have spent a fair bit of time working to bring it back to factory (approx 70hrs to date). I am the third owner and plan to hold onto it for a long time as I absolutely adore it. I've been in love with the Coupe shape ever since I laid eyes on one in the flesh back at a BMW dealership in 07. This car is very much the realisation of a goal and it is everything I'd hoped it would be.

There are a few things on it that I will gradually fix up as I go. Some wear and tear in the interior that needs to get sorted. I don't have a lot planned mods-wise. I have already installed an Eventuri Carbon Intake which has made my grin even wider when I put my foot down.

Anyway, happy to be here amongst enthusiasts :)

Cheers

Dan

Hi & welcome on here :)
Very impressed by the quality of your photos and what seems to have been a very successful detailing job, congrat
You are now living the dream, and even though the design of Z4 Coupe has its age - who cares; it's like great wine, it can only improve in (our) eyes :D.
Looking forward for more pictures of the car and your area!

Hi Dan, great to see another Aussie on here! She's a beautiful example and makes me lust even more after an S54 engine. Still waiting for the right M (in roadster form) to come along!

How many kms has she done?

Thanks for the welcome all :).

Zeddicus, thankyou for the kind words. Those photos were taken by a collegue of mine who is professional automotive photographer. I can only aspire to take photos that well lol. Yes a fair bit of time and effort has gone into it. Here is a write up on the initial detail if you're interested

Taz, you're right about there not being too many in Aus. 104 Z4MCs made it here. I believe there are a dozen or so in Melbourne. You don't see them often that's for sure. That rare factor was part of the attraction for me.

Mangozac, cheers mate! It's done a tad over 85,000kms. I've put about 6000 on it since I've had it. Whilst I care about the way it looks and have put a massive amount of time into it, ultimately I bought it to drive it. It's no garage queen. I spent the weekend in Tasmania with a few friends a couple of weeks ago. We covered over 1000kms of beautiful twisty roads. It was heaven. We're headed back there again in Feb ;). Out of an R35 GTR, Golf R, Polo GTI, and a Renault Megane RS265 my Coupe was universally voted best noise and most theatrical hahah.

Thanks again for the warm welcome. Looking forward to learning lots and making some good friends :)

Dan

Wow it's amazing how night and day cars come up when put through an exhaustive detail process like that! She looks stunning!

Absolutely! Nothing worse than beautiful cars not being used. An uber rich guy my Dad does work for has an XK Jag in his basement garage that hasn't moved in 10 years. It's tragic to think about how badly it will have deteriorated (especially since it was never treated well when it was driven) :(

I will check that when I am back off my holiday

Hi and welcome. Great looking Zed - well worth all the hard work
I'm moving to Sydney in a few weeks and I'll be shipping my Zed once I've applied for PR, so that'll bring the number of Z4MCs to 105. I might need to seek out your services if two months in a container take their toll!

Looks beautiful and it sounds like MCs are even rarer in Aus than over here. I'm always quite shocked by the rarity status of these: In the UK (not quite sure which bits of Ireland I am including in this calc), population is around 65m people so with approx. 600MCs, that makes it roughly 1 Z4MC for every 100,000 people! If I'm right in thinking in Aus there are something like 24m people with approx. 100 there, that makes them uber-rare - 1 car for every 230,000 people ish. Not sure about comparable figures for other models - MRoadsters will be of similar rarity here in the UK but I've not looked at the stats for Z4s generally. I'm sure we had about 7 MCs in Bristol back in April!
Enjoy the drive,
Stevo

Stunning looking car. I wouldn't have believed there was that much elbow grease on the world. Just show how wrong you can be! 8)
Oh, and welcome..
