Hi I'm very new on here
hope to be picking up my 2003 Z4 3 litre later today
looks pretty good for the money but know doubt there will be some issues !!
how hard is it to replace the cam cover gasket - I've heard there's some helpful stuff on here

What spec does it have? Any exciting extras?

Hi and welcome. very straightforward job to replace the cover gasket. Just go on to the E85/86 forum and search with appropriate words, you will find several helpful posts. Lots of how to's are for more major jobs like vanos seal replacement which start with the cam cover removal. Very important to use the correct sealant in the right places and to torque down the cover bolts to the exact specification. Too little or too much and you may end up with leaks. You can also look here http://www.beisansystems.com/procedures/index.html. Just click on double vanos (6 cyl E46-same M54 engine) and the first part of the procedure is all on the cam cover and gasket.
