Yesterday I placed a deposit for a new M40i after waiting over two years for a Lotus Emira i4, so I cancelled my order. I had a test drive yesterday in a Z4 and found the car fast and responsive enough for my needs. As a bonus my wife also liked the car. Very much looking forward to taking delivery although no date yet, after not having my own car for about 16 months. Looking forward to learning some interesting stuff on here. It will be my first BMW :)

I’ve recently joined the forum but haven’t summoned up the courage to post anything yet.

I bought a 20i model for not a lot of money during the winter and since have had it remapped.

Fabulous car, I hope you enjoy yours when it arrives.

I hope you are enjoying your remap. It is something I will seriously consider once my car is out of warranty in fact it was one of the things that helped me decide to buy the Z4. It also seems to be a lot of car for the money compared to other makes
 
The re-map took my 20i from around 180 to 300 according to Celtic who tuned it..

The 30i is around 245 so it’s quite a bit up on the 30i too.

Of course the 40i starts with so much more and I gather is very easy to tune.

I bought a 20i cause they are cheap on the market and was easy to tune.

It’s out of warranty but I’m happy to take the risk,
 
Hi and welcome, I’m in Barrow Upon Soar so we are almost neighbours.

I have a white G29 20i but just waiting for a new black one from Sytner Nottingham.

I used to travel through Barrow daily on my way to my office in Coalville some years ago, it looks like a really nice place to live.
 
Kesa, I ordered the car from Sytner Nottingham early June, looks like it’s maybe ready to collect next week. There have been a few glitches along the way, they actually ‘lost it’ for a couple of weeks so I’m keeping an open mind :?

Yes, I love living in Barrow, we have a house with river mooring, great place to be retired to :)
 
Wow, that's a quick turnaround. They are quoting me November 30th delivery. I think they might be holding my order back to suit them, tbh it's not
a problem for me.
You location sounds idyllic. My wife and myself are also retired. What are we doing buying sports cars at our age? :)
