Hi and welcome, funny thing, I wanted a VX 220 but could not sit in it with the roof on ahhh, anyway I can thoroughly recommend the Z4. When faced with the 3.0 Vs 2.5 question I drove both and did not find a lot of difference, however I could afford a mint 53 plate SE with 35k miles and full BMWSH or an average 3.0 with non-BMW history.
I went for the 2.5 and don’t regret it. Good luck with the search I reckon there is going to be some good value about this winter!
