Hi, another newbie

Hi all,

I'm in the North West and currently in the market for a Z4, stumbled across the forum and knowing how useful forum's has been to my e36 ownership thought I'd check in.

Currently planning the Euro road trip of a lifetime... Spa for the F1, Germany, Switzerland, Monza for the F1 and back through France... after much deliberation (and negotiation with the other half) a Z4 is to be the weapon of choice. Struggling to find a car that checks all my boxes at the moment, but fortunately time is on my side with the trip being end of August.

Obligatory pic of the e36... (not the best, pictures courtesy of the previous owner)... I'd happily take her across Europe but a convertible has been mandated!

Hi and welcome along

Nice intro, put up some specifics of the kind of Z you are looking for, plenty on here to help :driving:

Thanks everyone :)

I've a budget of 8.5K which I'm hoping will get me into an early facelift 3.0 manual with average miles. This is absolute top of the budget so the car will need to want for nothing in the relatively near future (or be negotiable on price). Options wise I'm looking for heated seats, better than basic stereo, cruise, Xenons, and the storage pack. Good full history is an absolute must.

Not sure how much of a tall order that will be though, I've seen a couple appear, but they've sold before I could get a sniff... I wouldn't turn down a pre facelift of the same spec and save some capital, but they rarely seem to come with sports seats which I'd like.

The only stipulation from SWMBO is that the car cannot be silver (though gunmetal is fine). The search continues...

Happy to say I picked up a lovely 2005 roadster over the weekend, sterling grey with red leather, heated seats and 108's. Not all the spec I wanted and obviously pre facelift, but condition and history are impeccable, a real credit to former owner... negotiated a fair price and I couldn't turn it down

Spent yesterday going over it with a fine tooth comb, and discovered nothing untoward other than the fact I need to buy a low profile jack! Checked the soft top drain holes (clear) and performed the sound generator mod (fruity), then went for a drive... very happy with the purchase :driving:
