Hi and thanks

They will have paid around £10k for it. If it wasnt white I'd say its overpriced. Clearly the colour makes no difference as they havnt been able to sell it. It wont sell quickly between now and the end of Feb so play hardball and see where they are.. I would offer £11k.

That would be a decent buy at £11k providing you don't plan to hammer big miles onto the 77k :?
A E86 is a rare find in white which accounts for the slightly ott ask , i suspect the autobox & lack of nav has hindered its sale & most likely was up for more than £12500 to begin with
Always worth leaving your offer on the table

Thanks for all the replies,
The original price was the same so they seem to be hanging on
I am swayed towards this one as it is the one she fell in love with, but mainly it's one owner and looking thru the old mot's has the least concerning advisories compared to the others around at the minute
unfortunately would be wanting to px our e91 as I'm to busy to deal with all the time wasters on eBay and the likes, so I guess what ever I knock theres down by they'll do the same in return?

Very rare in white - medium level spec - you'll enjoy the heated seats and the parking assist is useful. Reasonable mileage, one owner and good servicing record (if it checks out). With negotiation on the price would make a sensible buy though the automatic might make it less easy to sell on in the future by limiting the market as would the near 100K mileage in a few years.

I have no direct experience but have heard the 3.0 litre engine and the auto are a good match - I would quite fancy the paddle shift option.

You will love the engine and handling.

went and had a look again today they came down to £11500
only concern now is the mpg on the dash readout was down to 19mpg is this a normal figure
the dealer tried saying it's down there because it only really gets started to keep it charged and dry inside and the test drives are all short around the block runs

Better price, as an auto I averaged 30-32mpg over 4 years of ownership. Take it on the motorway and I could easily get between 40 and 45mpg. Around town would drop below 22mpg easily.

See here for some real life examples:

Price is moving in the right direction, also the mpg will be very poor if lots of short journeys so wouldn't worry about 19 mpg. As bluestreak56 says a long Mway journey will bring that right up.

I average mid to high 20s and at a steady throttle (with a great deal of restraint on the motorway) can achieve 36 to 38 mpg. Use the performance and the mpg will fall. The 19mpg might have occurred as explained by the salesman.

welcome to the forum

i have an autobox and its fantastic, i.ve never heard of any problems with them. check for rust on the inside of the tailgate, its not very common but its been known

Me too, absolutely love the auto box . I can get around 37 mpg on the motorway in vicar mode. My weekly average ( 50% urban 50% motorway) is around 27 mpg

thanks for all the replies think I'll give them a week and see if they'll drop anymore on the price
your figures are a bit more pleasing than the 19mpg the dash showed had a 328 and that averaged around 28mpg which was fine
sorry I just don't trust some car sales men if they new when to quit the spiel when I pointed out some research had been done via the lovely people on here
but they continue to say things like "its got special seats that hold you in for the corners" just winds me up

Well I reckon he's just being over enthusiastic, you can't expect the sales guy to know the Coupe in the same detail as the guys and galls on this forum. We know the M Sports seats are standard in the coupe, so they are not 'special' in that sense - however he is correct in pointing out that they 'hold you in for the corners'
