Hi All

I have just bought a 2005 2.2 in Sterling Grey Metallic with Red leather and Grey hood. Well it has been a great first week, car drives wicked but there are a couple of things I did not notice when viewing the car. First the hood does not retract without being pushed back so far but will retract, also the outer passenger seat adjusting rail was rusted solid. Anyway sorted the seat by taking it out and freeing it up, the roof though is more of a pain, the motor is sitting in its plastic bucket under the hood full of water. As it is a 2005 it is not just a tie wrap around the body holding it, It has a triangle piece of plastic coming of the body with 2 slots in it. There was one tie wrap on it which I have removed but, the bucket will not come out no matter how much I pull, I now also have a very bruised arm left arm. Something else must be holding it even though you can wiggle it quite easily an it feels free. I have been working on cars since I was 7 and can do pretty much everything. I have a couple of cars the Z4, E30 Cab, SLK32 AMG with mods giving 414 BHP, another SLK, Porsche Boxster 2.7 and a 1987 Ferrari Mondial, just doing the cam belts on this. I also have some bikes SV650 Suzuki and RD400c. It is nice to join you all in my journey with my new Z4, Hello to yo all.

Regards

Neil.

Welcome to the forum, quite a collection you've got there.. Enjoy the Z :driving:
'Oh' the photo police will be along shortly :)

Are you trying m to remove the motor or the bucket? If it is the bucket you want to drain there is a plug in the bottom.

See my response to you in this thread. Hope it helps
