Hello everyone,

Thought I would introduce myself. Name's James, I am a freelance film cameraman, based in the UK.

Just shaken hands with someone on a new car... don't want to reveal it just yet but suffice it to say I didn't sign up to this forum by accident!

Anyway this'll be my third BMW - I have had a 2005 330Ci Clubsport and a 2005 645Ci, loved them both dearly. Other noteworthy cars I was custodian of include a 1996 911 (993) targa and a '99 911 C4. Loved the Porsches but want something with a little more GT abilitiy.

Pictures will appear when she appears... but thought i would say "hi" in the meantime!

James

Thanks Gents, I'm sure that I will. I would have waited before posting, but I was probably going to start posting in other topics so wanted to have something first.

I'm really not sure what to expect from the Zed. I have been very, very happy with my two previous BMWs though. My 330Ci in particular I took from 113K to 164K and it went to Copenhagen, Munich, Austria, France, Barcelona and Edinburgh, to name a few. Loved that car to bits. The six was fun too and a bit brutish in its power delivery - i'm not a big fan of auto boxes.

Hoping the Z will be something a little different. I know my dad thought of trading his Z4MC in for an Aston V8 but tried the Aston and thought it was nowhere near as special or fun to drive as the BM...

Welcome James , your path is one trodden by myself  had a 330vert earlier this year , a 645Ci 3 years ago & before that a 964 C2 & a 98 C2
Sure the Z won't disappoint & look forward to the pics

Hi and welcome.

Pictures expected ASAP!! :D

I promise! I'm currently waiting for some private plates to come off it before I transfer it to my name. To be honest the cost of road tax on the damn thing I'm not rushing to get it, as the roads are currently frozen around me.

Something with more GT ability than the 911s - I'm thinking E89 - enjoy the new car

To be honest my last 911 was a '99 C4, which i absolutely adored and travelled around Europe, but it was a PITA. The boot on a 911 is not big anyway, but the 4WD ones are even smaller (as you surely know).

Cost of road tax, sounds like an ///M to me :poke:

As promised!!!

First pic, when picking up the car. More to come when time (and weather) permit.

More thoughts will come soon, but it is an incredible machine.

The number plate will be off it soon, the car is a 57 plate
