Just wanted to introduce myself and my E86. Thank you for creating and maintaining this folder.

Used to have a 323ti and now this beauty. I plan to make it perfect and better than new. Has done 140k kilometers and runs well. Just changed front-end with Lemförder ZHP arms and Z4M FCAB, swaybar links and tierods. Quite an improvement. Will do suspension but not sure what to do B4/B6 with standard suspension or B12. Or Koni yellow with M sport springs. Car does not have S704 M sport chassis.

Car has many things done already by previous owner also as preventitive maintenance (must be a freak like me) such as thermostat, waterpump, oil pan gasket, new valve cover etc.

Car is nicely spec’d with Msport leather seats etc.

Apart from that I will do preventative maintenance like changing DISA’s and OFHG plus mickey mouse flange. And belts and pulleys. Also - to have it like new - I will change the gear stick mechanism just because I can. And maybe do Hardy disk, internediate shaft bearing.

I would like the exhaust to have a little bit more sound, but just a little.

Oh, yes. I don’t like the electric steering. I went to Dusseldorf to do the sticky steering bearing replacement without having issues now (eventually it will come). But steering is a bit vague in the middle. Might make the jump and go hydraulic using new original BMW parts.

Hello and welcome. For a second I thought it was my car in the first picture 😁

It has the Bilstein B12 kit installed (B8 dampers and Eibach springs). Bought it with the kit already installed so cannot say how it compares to the original suspension.

I am thinking about that similar setup. How is the ride firm but not too firm? Do you hit any speed bumps? I dont have runflats so my guess is that they will be doable

Ride is nice. I’d describe it as you did, firm but not too firm. We have many speed bumps around here and the roads are not in the best shape. But the suspension works just fine, even with the low profile non runflats.
