Hi all,
Looking to replace my 130i with a Z4 after having it written off. Thinking about getting a roadster with a straight six of some description. My main concern is I found the suspension in the 130i quite crashy, are Z4s any better on that front?

I presume you are looking at getting a E85, I have the E89 which I find is not too harsh a ride even on 19” wheels, I’m sure others will be along soon with plenty of helpful advice

Yeah I'm looking at e85s. Good to hear they're not too harsh, I think the 1 series' issue was more to do with the optioned m sport suspension than wheels. I had it on 18" non runflats in summer and 17" runflats in winter and it was equally bad on both.

Crashy ride is such a subjective thing. Personally I find the suspension on the ///MR to be pretty gentile. Avoid the sports suspension, run flats and find some 17 inch wheels and I would expect a positively sumptuous ride.

Thanks. Sound simmilar to the 130 then with regards to sport suspension then. I'll make sure to avoid it.

Welcome to the forum.

The facelift E85 3.0Si has the same engine as your 130i had. The only downside to avoiding Sort models is you're unlikely to get the very desirable M-Sport seats.
