Hi all, as the title suggests I'm possibly looking to get a Z4 in the upcoming weeks... currently drive a Toyota Celica (which over the years i have fully TRD kitted it).. but now I need a bit more power!

Been reading this forum for hours! and its been a great source of information.

Test driving a black 56reg 2.5si sport roadster with 20k miles tomorrow.. priced at 16k which seems like an ok price..

So hi once again!

Thanks guys. The test drive went well.. its much quicker then expected.. but the brakes are a little rubbish.. but i suspect changing the disks and pads to some EBC or Black diamond will improve them though.

I think it had the storage pack as the cubby hole had shelves and it had cup holders.. but no heated seats or headlamp washers - as the add described :(

Also no negotiating on the price... so i said i had to think about it.

16k seems okay price for a 2.5si tho?
Mine is only a 2.0 and cost not much less...but did come with heated seats...and obv its down to more things such a mileage. :P

Oh you did say it had done 20k miles..
Ive never really considered needed headlamp washers....if u look after ur car and wash it...then they will never get dirty enough to warrant having them IMO
But i reck 16k is still a decent price..spesh for a 56

Shop around fella !

There's few popping up just now ..

I bought this (link below) a couple of weeks ago - from a dealer (not BM) ..

Welcome

Not fussed about headlamp washers never really use mine much and think the bumper looks cleaner without them.

Heated seats are great in the roadster especially on chilly summer mornings with the top down.

Brakes on my 3.0 are superb.

May be worth you looking around no rush plenty out there and winters coming so prices will drop.

Welcome - Derby - my home town :)

Headlamp washers per se are not important, but they do mean it does not have xenon headlamps, which are worthwhile.

Poor brakes - then they are faultly or your expectation is well off as the Z4 has pretty decent brakes in standard form (well certainly as far as you'd find on a road test.)

No negotiation - walk away - everyone has to negotiate if they want to sell.

I thought brakes are pretty good too...and mine are the most basic ones..
Doin whatever mph trying to keep up with you guys that day..."oh sheeitee is that a corner" found they scrubbed off speed pretty well..and didnt go too soft after "spirited" driving
Of course all speed limits were adhered to at all times throught :D

So hi once again!

Go over to Synter leicester just off J21 m1, should not be too far for you - i work near there and when i have gone past over the last couple of days they seem to have quite a lot for sale. Nice phoenix yellow roadster there on thursday - not sure which model, could not see as driving past, but friday counted 8 on their front display - all old shape roadsters and coupes. Not sure about prices - The prices have firmed up a bit, but might a good place to compare a few models colours etc.

Good luck, they are great cars.

Thanks for all your welcome... been a while yet but been visiting this forum almost daily undercover

After reading dozen of posts about people saying go for a 3.0 over a 2.5 i just put a deposit on a carbon black 57 reg 3.0si sport Z4...

Although not seen it in the flesh yet! but 18k with 10k miles, with extended leather, sat nav, xenon, bluetooth, upgraded audio, comfort, storage and 108's seemed like a good deal to me.

Pick it up at the end of the month (if it ever stop snowing!) and will post some pics.
