Hi - advice for a newbie please?

Hi all. I've been lucky enough to acquire a 2006 red Z4 3.0si Sport Roadster with full BMWSH and only 10000 miles on it. I'd like to get an agreed valuation for insurance purposes and wondered if anyone has any idea or could advise me of a good place to go for this? It's in Imola red with black leather interior. The spec of the car is pretty basic but it's in absolutely wonderful condition.

As a consequence, I may be selling my 2006 Z4 Coupe 3.0 Si Sport. It's in great condition, titanium silver with dark estoril blue and black individual interior. Has heated seats & cruise control. 86k with FBMWSH. The reason the sale is a maybe is because I only bought the car this January after a long search, and I absolutely love it's looks and how it drives. But then the opportunity for a roadster with 10k on it came along and I guess they are few and far between...........

So, I hope you don't mind me fishing for advice but I figured this has to be the best place to come. Please do also let me know if you may be interested in more detail on the coupe if I decide to sell.
 
A 2006 red Z4 3.0si Sport Roadster in Imola Red? It won't be Imola unless its been wrapped/sprayed? as that is only on the M cars. It could be Bright Red (Hellrot) - can you post up a pic?
10k miles is amazingly low :o As for insurance valuation it would help to know what you paid for it?

I bought from a guy on the south coast who used to use it to and from the yacht club apparently! All service history and mot's stack with the mileage. Colour is the same as yours - told you I was a newbie! Whilst not wanting to say exactly what I paid, I paid what i see 70 - 80k facelift models going for so pretty sure it was a good deal and I really want to make sure that I get the agreed value right for insurance. I guess it may be difficult given the mileage is pretty unique?
 
Well sir, you have a very rare Zed there - you have increased the number of bright red 3.0si roadsters on the forum to 3 (and one of them is in Poland) :thumbsup:

surely what you paid must be around the market value unless you aquired it super cheap? Id guess with that mileage 9k ish imho personally condition spec and service history is what sells a car to me.

Whilst low mileage is nice its pretty irrelevant if you plan to pile a lot on yourself unless your plan is to store it and keep it low as a future investment
 
For insurance valuation I would recommend you use the BMW Car Club GB.

I recently had my 8-Series valued through this method. It's pretty straightforward:

The send you some of forms to fill. You have to send them some photos...they accepted the photos on the pages of my website. Then, two independent valuers from the club reach a consensus...one will phone you up to go through some checks over the phone and then they send you a valuation certificate.

There's a fee...but it's not huge. It's slightly more if you're not a member but not by too much.

As has been said any red Z4 is indeed rare, but especially one like yours that has hardly been used! I hope you can put that right. :driving:
 
Thanks everyone for your advice. BMW Car Club it is then! This car isn't going to be an everyday car but is most definitely going to be used more than she has been!
 
As the car is a relatively mainstream model and isn't old enough to be a classic etc I would have thought an agreed valuation with an insurer would be very hard to come by. Most will just treat it like any other 10 year old car and pay you in the event of an total loss "market value" as dictated at that time by either CAP or Glasses. On that basis I would go to both CAP and Glasses websites to get some current retail values and use them for proof of value for the insurer.
 
Noticed that many who've been kind enough to offer advice are Manchester/Lancashire/Northern based. Are there ever any 'gatherings' in this neck of the woods? I
