Hi! A Newbie with some Questions

Hi,

I've registered on this forum because I'm researching potential next cars and the Z4 currently sits at the top of my list. Unfortunately, I don't know much about them. I'm looking to buy a used 3.0 litre for less than £11,000 within the next year and really just wanted to know what I should look for and what the general running costs are.

I'm 25 with a full clean license and 4 years no claims so I'm guessing insurance is going to be fairly steep. Which insurers seem to be the best, do you think? I will try the comparison websites after I finish typing this message, though.

I presently drive a 59 reg Ford Fiesta Zetec S (new shape) which I have on hire-purchase from Ford. I'm paying quite a bit for this vehicle and have 9 months left on the agreement. Really, my plan is to settle this current agreement and simply buy my next car, used, outright.

Anyway, thanks in advance for your help and i'll continue to browse this forum.

Hi and welcome to the forum and good luck with your search..

I had a 3.0 SE roadster before my current car and that will be the one you are looking at for under £11K I reckon. Was a great car. If you have a read through the forum then you will find things to look out for, potential trouble spots and more than likely a good few mods to do to it :thumbsup:

On the insurance front I was 26 when I bought the car and I was insured through Admiral. They were the cheapest for me by far at a cost of around £900.00 from memory. Bear in mind insurance has risen quite considerably over the last 12 months though.
