Hexagon BMW

Hi everyone,

I'm very tempted by this 2009 S drive 35i on sale at Hexagon - 11k miles, pure white design package, satnav, 19 inch wheels.

http://www.approved.bmw.co.uk/bmwuk/bmwauc/details/0,,1156___ask-4%40adm-xx,00.html?ch=_V0JBTE03MjAyMEUxNjQ0OTk=&btp=1x24-distance_ASC|list

Just wondering if any of you good folk on this forum have had much experience of Hexagon in east finchley ?- I've heard pretty mixed reports. Am heading in later this week for a test drive.

Also what do you think on price? Haven't owned a car for 7 years (living in central london) and this will be my first properly decent motor so am a bit new to how much you can realistically negotiate them down!

Thanks for any advice you can offer - hope to be posting more frequently here soon!

Cheers

On spec - nice apart from it has no heated seats - which could be an issue when you come to sell.

On price - a bit expensive - there is an M Sport 35i which is a year newer up for £25k at the minute - an auto too. Depends if you want a manual or not. But that's what I would be looking to get.

Any reason why you want a 35i and not one of the other engines?

I agree it's expensive. If you're going to buy a manual, don't buy the bigger engine. Most people expect the 35i with a DCT. So at resale it may be a sticking point. If you want a manual, buy the 2.0. You can get something a lot newer and with M Sport too.....

Take a look, ok it's white...

Hi Bubble1982 welcome to the forum
I'm with the rest of the guys ,think its a bit expensive
There's plenty out there so bide your time :)

welcome to the forum

i would not worry about a dealers reputation too much if i am only buying from them, if the price and car is right then thats what counts, having a car serviced is another matter, you need a good reputation for that

I can't see the ad from the link, the iPad just stops at the AUC homepage.

Hexagon Reading have been good to a couple of friends so don't worry too much.

No one has mentioned that it has the dreaded 296 alloys, where the rears are fragile and combined with the price and no heated seats, would put me off.

Oh and hello and welcome :D

Thanks for the heads up - cant seem to spot the car that you mention on either autotrader or BMW approved used websites - do you happen to have a link? Would gladly go and take a look at this. I'd take either the auto or a manual - I like the 'purer' driving experience of the manual but gotta say the autos are damn convenient and will probably be better on resale.

Regarding engine I'm pretty excited by the near 5 second 0-60 this offers - I won't be using the car for commuting and am really just looking for something hair raisingly quick to have a little fun in at the weekend. (and I can't quite justify the £30k or so needed to pick up a low mileage 35is!)

The 35i is a great car, and I would be sure that you could get one at the price you want. Def go with the DCT and as Sars said, stay away front the 296 wheels, which the one you looked at, has. They will cause you no end of problems.

Nav, heated seats, folding mirrors and nice alloys are the best options....after that look at hi fi, service package etc

Got that confirmed? I booked a test drive in a car at Hexagon, drove 1.5hrs, arrived on time and found the car in question 5 deep in the showroom. They said "Oh sorry, we should have explained that we don't do test drives."

Can't link at the minute but there is a 60 plate Space Grey 35i showing on the BMW used site at Scotthall Hampshire - 25k that's the one I was thinking off earlier.
