Hesitant Acceleration in Sport Mode

I noticed yesterday when driving home that the acceleration sometimes seemed hesitant when gently pushing the accelerator. I cruising along and 50mph in 3rd gear and gently pressed the accelerator. The car didn’t respond immediately but then accelerated normally. It felt like a 1 second flat spot. It only seemed to happen if I gently pushed the throttle if I pushed hard it seemed to respond immediately.

It also doesn’t happen when Sport Mode is off.

Any ideas anyone?

Tell us more about your car--engine, year, auto or manual? My 3.0Si Coupe has "0" hesitation in sport mode.

Have you tried to reset the "Adaptive Throttle"?

That is a quick and easy reset.

Shipkiller - what do you mean by "adaptive throttle" how do you reset?

I've had a few hesitation issues. I put this down to a few short journeys. Clears after exercising the car a little, sensors tend to get clogged with short journeys. What sort of journeys do you do?

Turn the key to position two (ignition on) but don't start the car.

leave on for 15 secs.

Turn off for 15 secs.

Start the car.

I have to reset the throttle ever couple of weeks...

Most of my driving is longer that 5 miles...
