When you are knocking on close to 150mph, an occasional look in your mirrors is a good idea! Even though the bike was "unmarked" the fact it was up my @rse at that speed would set off the alarm bells!

Yep definitely not aware of his rear view, I cant believe the car the GTR was racing had his drivers window down as he was going nearly 130mph, I'm glad my racing "Instinct" has cooled with age.

GTR driver - 6months jail, ban and 3400 fines.
Primera driver - 4 months jail, ban and 3400 fines.

made an example out of them for sure.

Fair enough he was caught going way over the limit but it is a shame to be caught like that.
There cant be many people on here who have not went north of 100mph just to either see what there vehicle can do or just for a little blast.
The guy probably thought he would show the bike what his car could do, why own a GTR if you are not going to open it up now and again.
Getting the jail for speeding is a sore one though and not the first time I have heard of this.
A guy a few years ago was caught on the Dolphinton Straight doing about 160 with nothing else on the road and got 9 months in the jail.
Puts you off a little :(

The 2 dickheads in the Nissans were racing each other and racing on the public highway is an offence. The indicated speed when the Primera pulls over and let's the GTR past was 128mph !! On a dual carriageway !!! Think of the consequences of an accident at that speed. Thankfully nobody was hurt especially an innocent third party. They both got what they deserved.

Agree totally with this. We probably all press the loud pedal now and again. But that was a busy road and they were racing at silly speeds, so no sympathy from here.

Granted they were both speeding and looked like they were racing, maybe they wernt and the GTR just wanted past.
I take it from the 128mph being before !! means that you are quite shocked at the speeds?
I take it also that you have never hit those speeds yourself at any point?
I am not condoning what they did, just that for the sake of a little thrill the guys get jailed by someone on an unmarked bike.
The GTR might not have gone any faster after going by the other Nissan if he didnt have a bike on his tail, it could be said that the bike egged him on.
There were stories years ago when the cops started using unmarked sportsbikes that they would sit beside you at lights trying to make eye contact while revving the bike to see if they could get you to race away.
Up North the guys on the unmarked bikes get on your tail and just sit there waiting on you speeding up instead of just going past you.

Judging by the approach speed I think the damage was done before that first roundabout. The bike was well back from the GTR at this point. The two Nissans were definitely racing as they exited the first roundabout. The Primera sets off and the GTR takes him on. At this point the bike is hanging back and keeps left whilst observing the two dickheads. He is only behind the GTR when he pulls out to pass traffic in the left lane. 'Egged him on' ? Seriously ? Come on?! He only gives chase proper as the Primera moves left when it is obvious they were racing and he has it all on camera. What was he supposed to do ? Let the GTR carry on up the road at those speeds ? Those two idiots dropped a clanger and they paid the price....good !
For your information the fastest I 'may' have ever driven a car on the road is about 20mph more than the max in that video....at 1 a.m on a completely deserted stretch of Merseyside motorway over 20 years ago. Nobody else around, just me. I certainly would not dream of getting a 'little thrill' by racing or doing that sort of speed on a reasonably busy dual carriageway at 1.05pm on a Saturday lunchtime in May !

Jail sentence!!!, if I was the judge, I would have passed the death sentence. They wouldn't have done it again, eh, eh
