Here's my renovated fixer upper!

I've been on the forum a couple of months... I purchased privately aZ4 3.0si Manual as I wanted to return to one after being out of them for well over ten years...

I found a pretty high mileage (145k) that needed a lot of cosmetics, wheels etc, BUT, importantly to me had the things I wanted, the Black decent seats, nav, heated seats, cruise control etc...

Purchased, Immediately took to Mike at the zed shed to get;

Full Major Service
Water pump replaced
Roof motor relocation
Clutch delay valve removal
Oil filter and cylinder head gaskets replaced - They were weeping...

Drove it a little, decided I wanted a hardtop too, so purchased one on here from the buy and sell page.

Found a set of beautifully refurbed clean genuine MV2's with new tyres on already...

Took it to my friend who runs a busy bodywork place and went balls deep and had a full respray in original colour and the roof was previously blue, replaced the tired chrome grill with matt black and the badly stone chipped and damaged bonnet badge, replaced all four parking sensors as it wasn't working - now fine! (£20 for the 4 sensors brand new - Love China!) - polished up the badly faded lenses as much as possible (there's still a little clouding on the inside, but not enough to really notice...) and finally left it de-badged It now looks factory fresh.

I finally got to see it all together today - 8 weeks or so after purchase, all together, clean and I am over the moon...

Here's the pictures... (I work at a car dealership - Handy for the washing it with everything to hand!)

What was the total outlay? It may give others hope!

I’m in 9k total - BUT - whilst I know, I could’ve got one cheaper et cetera, the fresh paint work, the brand-new wheels, tires, full service, preventative, maintenance, et cetera mean more to me… I spent the money as I intend to sit in this for years repairing as required.

Sounds great value to me for something so tidy

Some people have different drivers for me I don’t want something that’s concourse I want something to take and drive enjoy but also look after and cherish…

If I wanted to buy an investment, I would’ve bought a manual R8 V10 and sat looking at it in the garage. Scared to drive it… this is just a fun car that sits on the drive a lot of the time…
