Heres an idea !

I dont know about your zed, but I cant control the roof while the car is in motion, so you would still have to pull over when it started raining to close it anyway.

Just bite the bullet and buy a reinhold mobule, yes you have to slow down and yes you have to press the button for 1 second, but its proven and less hassle than what you are tying to do. Just my 2p worth. :)

All agreed but that's missing the point I think he's trying to make..

I often park mine in a place with the roof down where it can stay down.. but it would be nice to think if there was a quick shower and you weren't watching, it would go up by itself

OK missed that part, but flat battery springs to mind.

Sorry, Should have explained my intent in the opening post, I was simply looking for a way for the roof to shut of its own accord if it was left open and parked on the drive for instance. I spent some time this week installing automatic Velux window closers to some posh flats in London and it got me thinking about the Z roof,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Thats all

at least you got everyone guessing - made for interesting reading :D

and it is a great idea - but I wouldnt have the knowledge :(

If it only went up once it wouldn't be a problem at all, it's not like it's going to put it down again when the rain stops.. hmmm now you mention it.. 8)
