When on I-95 the only thing I pass when I'm doing 80 is campers, trailers and the occasional seniors (they pass me too).
Although there will be a hell of a lot of grant money for some group to work on this for a year!!!

Who is going to enforce the law. We have a 60MPH law here in my state in most urban areas of Interstate Freeways. If you go as slow as 65MPH you will get run over fast. If the State Patrol tries to give someone a speeding ticket most any time of day, they will generate a traffic jam and subsequent rear enders because of gawkers, that will go on for miles.

As most people in law enforcement will tell you, it is almost impossible to enforce laws no matter how worthy, if the general public does not believe in them. Even if a national 55MPH law was passed, I don’t think people would pay any attention to it at all and all it would do is put a bigger burden on states to try to enforce the law. The federal government audits speeds and if they find that there is no enforcement going on they cut funding for highways for that state. That is why you see special emphasis enforcement going on from time to time in an attempt to appease the feds.

keeping speeders in check over here in miami and ft. lauderdale's section of i95 is damn near impossible. it seems to me that even cops drive over the posted speed limit. albeit, they may be going to a "crime scene" or "responding" to a call.. a good majority don't even follow the speed limit.

everyone over here drives over the posted 55 mph speed limit imposed all over miami's section of i95 until about you start reaching broward, and then.... everyone drives even faster!


i drive fast.. but i also respect my life enough to the point where i do not want to die and neither do i want to put others in danger.
