Here she is, and outdoor covers?

Hi all,

I introduced myself in the new members section a few weeks ago but hadn't picked the car up yet. Well I did the Kent to Isle of Man road trip at the weekend and she's home. A 300 mile road test drive home and was faultless, I'm very happy. Here she is, March 2008 2.5 Si Sport, black leather, 64k miles, been on the Island from 6 months old. The last owner, a family friend, owned it from 2014. Lovely and very original condition.

First job is to get her UK registered, should be an 08 plate, and get an MOT which they don't have over there.

So my question is outside covers. It is likely to spend most of this winter outdoors because I don't have the garage sorted. can anyone recommend a good weatherproof cover? And I don't suppose anyone has a good used one they want to sell?

Thanks

Looks great condition - enjoy it
Cover not great for your paintwork but I have to use one as well - I got one off amazon I think (about £90) double layered and soft liner. Needs to have straps at the corners to tie onto wheels and a girth strap to stop it lifting in the wind.
Make sure the car is always clean before the cover goes on and take off regularly on nice days over the winter.
First thing to do though is check your drains!! remove the rubber bungs especially the one in front of the rear tyres, these are the main culprits for filling with water and drowning the roof motor.

Buy the best quality cover you can afford as the cheaper ones don't stay waterproof for long in my experience. Can recommend stormworks good cover that stays put.

Welcome to Z4 ownership.

That looks like a great E85 too!

My current E86 came with a Stormforce cover which seemed like a quality bit of kit, but after reading how the car needed to be clean and dry before I put it on I knew that would never happen so I sold it on here.

Plus however well a cover fits I was concerned about paint rubbing on the corners if there were high winds. At the end of the day it's a car, so it's designed to cope with weather.
