Hendrix at Woodstock

As a biggy Hendrix fan I get increasingly frustrated at his vids being pulled off YouTube by the Sony/Hendrix Estate so for any Hendrix fans here is the full Hendrix set at Woodstock, probably my fave alltime performance by Jimi.

Tim, never had you down as a Hendrix fan

To me, the Woodstock performance was his finest hour, every note of it is sublime. I have the entire performance on DVD, I think I know every note.

Hi John,

Been a fan for the past 40 years, when in my teens I used to take the train to the Saturday record fairs in Brum and Manchester searching for bootlegs. Always hung onto his vinyls. It's just a real shame that much of the concert videos, Isle of Wight, Woodstock and Albert Hall have been removed off YouTube by the Hendrix Estate. Some Albert Hall songs have appeared recently but I expect these will be removed before long. I don't know who runs the Estate now but I think it was his sister who has been the drive to remove his videos off the web.

Tim.

Tim, I'm of an age such that I should have seen Jimi, ie in my late teens he was playing the British clubs and University circuit. However to my lasting regret I was never in the right place at the right time and didn't get to see him.

I was at University in Manchester at that time, picked up a couple of bootleg albums there in city shops, 'Wow' and 'Sky High' were titles that I remember. Good times.

I believe he performed at the original IOW Festival in 1970 - I was 22 at the time and remember going over to Freshwater and listening to the music from the fields above the site - I remember so many people - I think up to 500,00 attended - halcyon days though - Flower people - love-ins and weed :D
