Right guys,

Z4 has been parked up for a week an a half waiting for the paintwork to be approved

last night driving home, the car was pulling to the left

then get up a bit of speed the TPMS light, Handbrake light & Traction light come on in yellow, usually a wheel speed sensor/pressure sensor i know...

but then swapped over the front wheels off the 'mrs 1 series to see if the pulling to the left went away - it didn't.

So on my way to work this morning, joining the motorway i get this awful rumbling like the wheel is about to fall off, couldn't really do much as i have no wheel brace in the car so just nursed it to work & it feels like that all the time now at all speeds, the sensation is simmlar to having a fully deflated tyre or a wheel thats not on properly.

any ideas? I've checked all tyre pressures & that all wheel nuts are tight......

Is the wheel very hot by the way? When I had the three lights the hill assist stopped working. Is yours still working?

No the wheels weren't hot, I thought sticking caliper but there's no resistance when you let it roll down the road

Is it the front or rear it's rumbling?

If it's the rear I've had a driveshaft coupling collapse once, not on a zed but still, not sure how the Zed's are designed but this one was a cage with 5 large bearings mounted in that sits in a housing which allows the driveshaft to move up and down etc with the suspension, the cage collapsed on one side, it still drove but rumbled like hell. Other than that all I can think is bearings.

think you may be right in the bearing - i rang my mechanic & he really thinks its a collapsed bearing.

I work about 2.5 miles from Bowker where i'm taking it in today for the bodywork to be painted... so just going to nurse it there & get them to do it :(

right the 'wheel bearing' has been fixed, it had a MASSIVE egg in the rear sidewall it was unbeliveable!

but my mate scanned the car @ lunch time & the steering angle sensor come up as a fault & it wont go away? He reset it & it come straight back (this was after changing the wheel)

the TC and handbrake are still illuminated as well as the TPMS which wont reset :(

The Steering angle sensor can be read in daignostis to see if its actualy working... This is integral with the other 2 lights so will probably all go off when you get to the SA Sensor problem..

Yeh mate we read it on INPA and its coming up when you turn the wheel left to right - although when the sterring wheel is at 12'oclock it is reading like 9 degrees... so i think with an alignment it'll sort it... finngers crossed!
