Looking to order msport 2.0sDrive in alpine white and red leather. I am confused by the list of options and want to be careful I dont forget to spec somethng I will regret not having later. I also want to keep the cost down and not go crazy.

1. What is the best way to integrate my iphone for bluetooth and music? There is a number of telephone/bluetooth options, which is the best or does the msport come with everything thats needed.

2. Comfort pack, is it worth it?

3. Heated seats and wheel are a must?

4. Loud speaker system? IS the standard one good enough?

Have I missed anything essential?

Welcome aboard.

Personally, 3. & 4. are must haves.

Can't comment on the first two as I have the previous model zed.

I'm sure someone will be along to help :)

Went for comfort pack as it has a lot of bits that I would spec anyway, particularlygiven that I have occasional cruises on motorways and park in a modern garage. Did have a last second thought and tried to spec heated seats but was one day too late! Argh!! :(

Not an audiophile so for me 2 and 3 are musts - standard Bluetooth works fine on BMWs.

Hi

I Ordered white zed with red leather

I think most Zeds come standard with aux port for playing music via iPhone, bluetooth is also standard but works with phone aerial not car.

I never bothered about about heated seats or upgraded stereo . Car is test drove had standard speakers and I think it sounds fine. I never have audio to loud tbh anyways

A New Z4 comes with basic iPod integration and basic bluetooth for free. There is a USB port in the center storage compartment.

If you want fancy things like voice control, you need one of the upgrades.

Heated seats aren't a must, but they are nice to have. Between us we've had four roadsters. Number five, our Z4 will be the first with heated seats.

I have Raynaud's. This time of year, my fingers get cold, white and then blue even with heavy gloves on. I'm really looking forward to a heated steering wheel. Most people won't need it but it isn't very expensive.

The base stereo is rubbish. It is only good enough if you don't listen to music. As much as I want a better sound system, we are getting the base stereo. We'd rather spend the money on something else.

The comfort pack is only worth it if you want all the options that are in it.

Cruise control is my number 1 must have option. It is the only option out of the comfort pack we want. I found it very easy to speed in the Z4. Cruise will save me a few tickets.

I plan to buy the parts for the cup holder and put that in after we get the car.

agree with Adamski, although not really bothered about sound system as I usually find the standard system adequate.

heated seats are a must in a roadster if you are going to use the car the way it is supposed to be used in all weathers.

wheels can be changed or upgraded at a later date, if you feel the need to change.

Ok thanks for the advice. I am thinking that I may save the money from the comfort pack and spend it elsewhere.

Which option would I need to view playlists etc from my ipod on the screen or is this standard?

Already decided to get the heated seats and wheel, they are not that expensive.

For 6FL, the included basic iPod integration, you also need a connecting y-cable. Dealer sells them although there may be cheaper alternatives.

Screen? You only get the iDrive screen with 609 Navigation.

Without navigation you get a very basic one-line display on the radio.

6NF, the upgraded interface, has a snap in adapter for your phone. No cables. If you do order Navigation, you might also want to order 7HP Connectivity Package.

Hi and welcome

Anyone who says the standard stereo is good, is either deaf or not interested in music, it's adequate with the roof up useless with it down, there are numerous posts on the subject so do a search

It's a convertible and thus heated seats are a must.

TBH, with the offers on the Zed at the moment, there are lots of new forum members who are asking similar questions have a search, which is very good at getting the information you need. I Regret not doing the same when I chose my options, as I should have added sports seats and the stereo upgrade.....at the end of the day you are spending a lot of money on a car so don't scrimp on a few extra options that YOU want.

Have fun

I got heated seats but I am in Scotland and was sick of my ass being cold on winter mornings! My brother also swears by them and he has a Golf R32. First thing I was looking for when I was buying a car was heated seats. I wouldnt have got anything less now!

Way I look at it, your already getting leather for free, why not compliment it with heated seats.

Admittedly, I am considering adding folding mirrors to my car now!
