What are people recommendation for 19'' tyres. I've found lots of posts on 18'' tyres but from my experience 19'' feel a lot different.
Would like to know what 19'' tyres people are running and what the ride is like and if your experiencing any tramlining.
Thinking of going with Goodyear Eagle F1 asymmetric 2s anyone got these in 19''?

Yes, would recommend michelin pilot super sports as a premium brand. Others have used and rate the Goodyears.

Have a quick search on the forum, there are other rated tyres such as Falken and Vredestein as a lower cost alternative.

sorry to sound indifferent, but 18 or 19 feels the same to me. only difference is the cost.............. wow BMW want £800 odd a pair for the Z4 and £350 each of the 5 series.

So yes, Price is the difference, unless you want bigger wheels to house bigger callipers / discs.

I've swapped from 18'' to 19'' on a few cars now and found the 19'' a lot firmer. Bmw have shocking prices! I'm lucky I can get tyres at trade price. :D
Just undecided as to what to choose.

Have used Vreds, Pirelli and Michelin on my 19". All are good tyres.

Did you find any of these to tramline?

Michelins are very good, Pirelli had good levels of grip, but wore out quickly, Vreds are my current set - and given the difference in costs between them and the PSS, am very impressed. I have found that they don't grip as well as the Pirelli or Michelins on a greasy surface when pushing to my limits, but for everyday driving they are very good. I haven't had issues with tramlining with any of them tbh ...

Try here, iam running michelin pss on my 335d & there great. It all depends what you want to spend.

Well due to the reviews on here I've narrowed my choices down to Vredestine ultrac sessanta or Goodyear Eagle F1 asymmetric 2.
I will post back after I've made the decision and give my verdict on them.

did you get the tyres ? what did you pay for them and what make ?

Thanks

Well I'm keeping my falken 453s now. They were very twitchy and never felt settled. But I had them all road force balanced and there perfect now. Two of the tyres had hard spots and was causing it to be twitchy at motorway speeds.
They were measuring 60lbs of force so had the tyres moved to a better spot on the rim.
Will defiantly recommend road force balancing to anyone having high speed stability problems. :)

Never tried road force balancing.... hadn't heard of it until now...

as for tires, I used Contisport contact 3's, my michelins (I think PS3's?) wore out quickly but I'm using the Super Sports now. and some Pirelli's. Getting a new set of Michelin Super Sports for the 911 in a month or so.

Almost every bloody vehicle I own uses 19" wheels except the old Boxster. and they are all different sizes dammit !

I only recently found out about it. Quite amazed at what a difference it made. Having hard spots in a tyre with a small side wall can play havoc in a cars composure.

Mine was always nervous but when I put my 18'' wheels back on it was fine. So I was going to put some better tyres on my 19''
Wheels at a great cost even though mine are nearly new. But took a gamble at a road force balance and it sorted it.
