Please don't go with silver. Hides the lines of the car, though the easiest to maintain.

My faves would be the blue, white, or red on the coupe to be honest.

I'm looking at the front/side aspect of my titanium silver z through the window as I read this and assure that it doesn't hide the lines. Being fairly light and metalic it presents an array of depths ranging from quite a deep grey/blue to almost white looking at it now and very much accentuates the lines.

Having said that my preference was the brown/grey and I'd have had a 3.0 one had it not been automatic, then black but it came down to the best overall availability at the time based upon price, mileage, age and seller credentials/warranty... not being too bothered about specific models and features and all colours look great IMO.

Have just washed it today for the first time in a couple on months and the bugs were hard work at the front, even with treatment and a hard sponge. I can't imagine black would be harder than it was to remove that lot off silver even if it needs a quick clean more often.

:hattip:

Biased obviously, but Montego blue the best option in my opinion. I so nearly laid a deposit on a grey coupe once. I was going to think about it and phone the dealer back to confirm. On the way out a customers Montego blue coupe was parked outside and I new at that moment nothing else would do.

I really like the black but keeping it clean just wouldnt be for me and I spend ages on mine anyway. If you can garage it and keep it polished the black does look amazing. Otherwise its a no.

The darker greys were too boring to me, something just didnt quite work. As stated about, I think some of the lighter colours dampen the cars lines. The Z needs to look aggressive to work I think.

I like the imola red but the missus hates it. Somehow though the imola red didnt work on the standard coupe for me but I like it on the M. Cant really explain it though.

Anyway, Montego blue. Best option

Exactly. A much broader range of depths than the darker colours to accentuate the lines.

Anyway, surely the pleasure is driving (preferably through great scenary with the roof down), not wondering what your lines look like or which colour you're in, not like a new pair of pants

:poke:

Sun's just popped out ere and I'm hungry... drivin and location of a good pub meal to be done :driving:

indeed roof up down, on or off (it's nice to have a choice) It's the driving of it, unless im not on me Ducati or it's not a red or purple one, or one with a wood dash or an automatic!!!! How Cr4p would that be????

Don't go with blue, shows every spot of dirt!!

Silver every time.

:soapbox: Every other car on the road is silver. If you want to be like everyone else, why are you buying a Zed? While monochromatic cars can look quite nice, colour is where the real style is. :fuelfire:

Silly me for having to like a BMW a German car in Silver! Yes it's made in the USA but BMW'S are German and it would be better made if it was made in Germany!!!
The original question was black, blue or silver!!
I love black but if not looked after they show up every mark, i did like the light blue but when you find a car with less miles on the clock with 1 owner full service and all bills i went for the Silver.
You sound like the sort on ---- that would buy a Ferrari in any other colour than Red or a Lotus in anything other than green.

I have a silver one, really wanted a blue but couldnt find one in good condition and the silver was available, Id go with condition over colour.

If equal condition Id go Blue silver black in that order.

Blue with cream leather is a lovely combo

I thought silver was meant to accentuate the lines of the car ... and that pre-build models of cars where produced in silver for that very reason.

I would prefer Silver or Black to blue ... but these things are personal. Also, you don't mention which blue? There seem to be a few: Monaco Blue, Montego Blue, Interlagos Blue??? :driving:

P.S. I've never seen that red before (three posts above). What colour is that?

Silvers and greys do indeed accentuate the lines of a car better than anything else, and can make a car look bigger, whereas black doesn't show the lines of a ca and can sometimes make a car look smaller...

If you have a black one, and looked after, it looks amazing if you're into keeping your car clean, if not, perhaps go for silver or grey.....
