Help with codes - thermal oil-level sensor

Hi guys, I have two codes which do not appear to be causing any problems but I would like to resolve:
27C3 DME: Thermal oil-level sensor
279C DME: Thermostat, map cooling : activation

Questions:
- are these two codes related?
- is thermal oil level sensor part number 13621433076?

3.0i 2003.

Possibly oversimplifying the problem [likely], but don't you just need a new oil level sensor and a new thermostat? Maybe they're both on their way out?

Maybe you are right, but the second question is important. Is it:
12617508003 Oil levelling sensor; or
13621433076 Temperature sensor coolant / oil
?

Looks like an issue thats been picked up before on here too…both codes present at the same time.

References the 003 part number.

I have a code for Thermal Oil Level Sensor, I did replace it with a Stark Brand unit from Autodoc but still get the code. I have another brand replacement on hand to put in at next oil change. Not bothered about the current duff one as my 2.5 has a dip stick so rely on that.
You have to remove the metal undershield plate to get at the level sensor in the sump. Held in by three nuts on studs, new sensor should come with new O ring seal on it.

Cheers colb, I have one on order plus a few other bits and pieces.
