Help! Water below hood (again)

A couple of weeks ago when I had my car in a local indy for something else, I asked them to clear the drains below the roof cavity because I could see water when I looked down into the gap between the hood hinge and the door when the hood was open.

Yesterday I had the hood down, and I saw the tell-tail glint of water down there. I can think of a number of explanations:

1. They didn't actually clear the drains
2. They cleared the drains, but they've become blocked again, possibly because of debris inside the hood cavity
3. The water I can see is unconnected with the hood cavity

Before I go round and rant about explanation 1, does anyone have any comments on the others?

I'm wondering about getting an inspection camera like this one. Any (clean) suggestions about where I should stick it?

I've seen messages on the forum that refer to using a vacuum clean to clean out the cavity, but I'm not sure how large a tube I can use or, again, where I should insert the tube.

Sounds to me like they haven't done the job ,water wont stay in that area if the drains are clean ,well at least it dosent on mine

When I first bought my Z I could here water where the pump was and used this to suck it all out a garden hose atached to a Hoover worked very well as the hose was flexible enough to get right down into the cavity



After doing that removed the rubber bung that drains that particular cavity. My bung was completely blocked and when pulled out a bit more water came out. I have now left the bung out as it's a dreadful design.
Once I knew the cavity was clear of water I bought a can of wd40 oil which came with a long straw and sprayed the whole can down and around the cavity.
2 months later the cavity is free from water
