HELP warning light

Exhaust emissions warning light on ,what does this mean ? More to the point isit an expensive fix ?
 
could mean a load of things.. you want to run diagnostics on it matey.

Could go from being a duff sensor, right up to head gasket failure..
It's impossible to say without knowing more :/

that'd be, like, the worst case scenario... It's hopefully just a duff sensor!

But you will never know without plugging it in and seeing what's what I'm afraid :(
 
I had same light on during first half of drive to Silverstone / Zedfest - I had filled up before with Sainsbury super unleaded which I've used before with no problem. However once that tank expired and I refilled the light quickly went out and stayed out for return leg of 330 miles. I've just done another 350 miles this weekend with no repeat so put it done to a poor quality tank of fuel.

Yep. Fuel.
Mine was doing the same intermittently when using Morrisons.
Ran some shell and Esso on a long run and it went out again.
Have replicated several times and now steer clear of M-fuel....
Fill it with decent fuel and go out for an old fashioned italian tune up. Go through four or five cycles and the system will probably reset.
If it stays on then you need to plug it in....

Well just had the fault cleared at Daren woods drove 20 miles light staying off till 1mile from home and the
Bas@@d came on again ,I'd just filled up with vpower as always so need to get full diynostic done he thinks could be a sensor or leaking pipe
I cleaned the engine bay a couple of weeks ago so may be some crap in the sensor will let you know I how I get on ,he did say its ok to drive

Why did they clear the light before reading the code that triggered it? :? You could buy a D900 OB2 Code reader from eBay for just over £20 and read the code yourself. :wink:
 
Sorry for the late response been away ,anyway my car hasn't been used for over a week turn it over no warning light on ran it for three hours and still no light and took it it for MOT and passed all ok so fingers crossed it stays off
