Help to value my Zed

Hi all, I'm toying with the idea of selling my Z4 in the spring as I've realised I can't live with my parents forever

I've got a 57 plate 3.0si roadster, 3 previous owners, 89k miles with everything apart from cruise control (I think). There are a couple of things to mention but not sure if they will decrease the price?

On the HPI check it says there is a mileage discrepancy because someone has filled the wrong mileage on a V5 slip. I've sent a letter showing all previous MOT's but they refused to amend it.

Another is that the last service I have done myself and will be doing the next one in spring, I've kept receipts and documented work but I understand people prefer main dealer or specialist.

The front bumper could do also do with a respray & at the minute I have the back box delete done but I have a standard exhaust in my shed. Would you change it?

There aren't many similar spec for sale at the minute to compare too. Opinions welcomed :driving:

I would say somewhere around 8k ,personally servicing it yourself woundt bother me in fact i would have more faith in a enthusiast owner than some dealers .A previous car of mine was supposed to have a full service history but when i changed the oil & air filter it was filthy

7k imho although it could fetch 8 in the spring...i would put the standard box on for sale and throw in the delete pipes as a bonus

I would suggest somewhere between £6000 - £7000 depending on condition of bodywork and wheels etc

Swap over the Back box too if you can,

Might be worth going to get a service done at an Indy before the sale so the buyer gets some reassurance before buying it.

Love the seats though and the colour combo is good too so should sell easy enough if priced correctly. :)

Thanks for the replies, I'll get the exhaust swapped in spring. I might try and twist my old mans arm but he's on my insurance so he knows he can drive it now anyway, i slipped up there

Its a gorgeous colour combo Jake with a very decent spec , around 90k in springtime should see you return £7250/ £8k , i think sub £7k is too cheap even with the last 2 self services
Does the mileage not add up with MOT's & service stamps ?

Wait until Spring and sell for £7.5k with a for sale ad that will hang around for approx. 8 minutes.

High 7's in the spring if you swap the box over, get the front bumper resprayed and the wheels look good. It's a great combo of engine colour, interior and some 'must have' accessories.

Sell off the back box pipes - makes people think you've thrashed it around.

Yes, just frustrating if anybody does an HPI alarm bells will ring that the mileage recordings look like it's been clocked and they wont amend it

This was the reason for my lower valuation :( , It would personally put me off buying the car!

Can you not write a firm letter to HPI / DVLA to get it changed and if you don't get anywhere take it further up the chain until it is rectified? I had an issue with the number of previous owners on my old 123d and to be fair the DVLA were great and sorted it out within a few weeks.

Surely if someone has input the data wrong its on there head to sort it out?

Anyway spec and Colour combo is good and I wish you the best of luck when you sell it :)
