Help to ID these cables

Whilst poking around above the pedals / footwell of my 2003 3.0 I found a smallish neat hole, that looked like it was missing a cover? with these 3 wires / connectors tucked away just out of sight. This was very close to the interior light and speaker cover, Does anyone know what they might be for?? Thanks

There should be a sounder in that hole. The three leads operate various tones for being in reverse and park sensor. Most people disconnect the reverse gear one.

OT, but which wire do I disconnect to stop the annoying reverse beep, whilst keeping the rear parking sensors beep??

I can't remember as I pulled iit years ago, but it's real quick to drop the panel, unclip one and see if you have stopped the annoying 'boing' sound.

Does that mean that if I source a replacement sounder Im just going to end up with an annoying reversing beep? as I dont appear to have any kind of park sensor...........

You really want one fitted as it generates all sorts of sounds and warnings, but it's no big deal

Thanks............according to Soper's its called a sound gong and after discount they are £55. Is it worth having at this price?

That's your decision, but I'd source one off eBay or a breakers

ordered one from ebay (second hand) £7.00 & free p&p :)

Way better at £7
now just plug it all in. Engage reverse and disconnect the horrible 'boing' sound and all others things should work

Disconnected the BLOODY annoying going that reminds you that you are in reverse tonight. Reverse sensor etc still works fine, but that other beep was wrecking my head. All other beeps, ie key in, door open, low oil or lights left on chime from the instrument cluster and not the under dash speaker. It's quite a big unit when you get it out

Pic attached to show which wire to pull!

I didn't know the Zed had an annoying reverse beep, mine doesn't do it so thankfully the previous owner must have sorted it. (My last E60 had it and it annoyed)
