Are you in Tier 4?
Maybe it's to stop you leaving? :D

Sorry, no idea how to actually help you, just my usual Sunday lunchtime-had a beer-frivolity.

Now that is strange....
Have you been trying to update it?

Try driving it for a few days, they have been known to crash then return on their own. Failing that the nav may have failed and the TV module will take over the screen so you cant see anything nav related.
If its the latter then you may be able to recover it by opening up the dash, disconnecting the module for at least 15min before reconnecting.

Not sure if disconnecting the battery would do the same thing, someone will know.....

How's your battery? Age, last charged up etc?

As the battery loses charge, all sorts of spurious issues crop up...

I would check the condition and charge state of the battery as my first step.

My Volvo AGM 5 year old battery is showing signs of struggling with little use, extended periods without a run and then only short runs.

The E89 is notorious for spurious errors caused by this..

Something else with the iDrive, i had to disconnect the battery for some time. When reset all the names of my uploaded music, was replaced with some generic upload term. Had to go through and rename everything.

I recall from my F10 ownership there were hidden menus on the idrive- worth a google as it opened up a few more options or restored them
