Steve - it's quite a heavy thing, and as such is probably quite expensive to ship from the USA to the UK. You will also be liable for customs & VAT, and a small heavy package may attract attention from the blokes that check the packages.

You're probably better off biting the bullet and buying it here.

I bought mine from http://www.motorforce.co.uk/product.php?catId=0047&prodId=0442 even though I have a sister in Dallas who could have posted it on. Just didn't make sense to do it that way.

I know it's £45, and that sounds like a lot for a gear knob but you'll have it in a day or two and after P&P you won't have spent a great deal more.

I have them in stock and ship overseas. For international shipping it is best to maximize through a larger order.

I've ordered two whallen shift machines, one for a MCS I had 4 years ago and the other for my coupe a couploe of months ago. Both where reasonalby cheap to ship even though they are heavy and neither one attracted customs costs.

Andy

Can you let me know the costs for one.

I will also see if anybody is interested in a group buy, I have already put feelers out.

thanks

Steve

Steve,

Like I said, it is better to order a few things than one small item. THe cost to ship a shift knob is the same as shipping a shift knob, center armrest and door armrest so it pays to make one order.

USPS Global Express Mail: $29 (Includes tracking number and insurance)
USPS Global Priority: $20
USPS First Class Mail: $15

I will not accept any responsibility for Priority or First Class Mail once they leave my hands, and they take a long time.

I dont see the need for the centre unrest myself.

The factory armrest is just at the right height for me, and is comfortable, also I am guessing the gearlever would also be obstructed to a degree as you would need to raise your arm to get over the centre arm rest.

Sorry guy's, but I don't see the point of the centre armrest either... maybe I need to see one in person but it looks a little odd to me. I find the stock armrest perfect.

Clearly those of us who like the stock arm-rest (me too) have got big long monkey arms. Any higher arm-rest and my arm would be bent at a funny angle.

That, or we keep the seat low :)

Me too......
Pass the bananas.

I was actually considering one of those armrests, i've had some long journeys in the Z and i think it is a tad too low, also want somewhere to store the gavsicon and nurofen!

Don't you mean the K-Y and the handcuffs?

I guess this centre armrest is a love-it-or-hate-it accessory. I don't have monkey arms, but I don't think I'd like one of those armrests anyway. The short shift knob makes the arm position even more comfortable than before IMO.

Love your signature pic, Rick...

The Center armrest and door armrests are the BEST COMFORT MODS EVER for the Z.... I absolutely love mine. Get them along with the shifter knob....

The center armrest does not obstruct shifting in any way. Do ya think he could sell them if they did??? NO! The leather door armrests are awesome and look like a factory accessory or actually what BMW should have put there in the first place!
