First post on the site. Hopeing you all could help please. I have a 2004 Z4 which I've owned for the past 3 years, after the first year I had to have the roof motor changed after which all was well apart from my wallet.
Recently I have been trying to engage the roof, what with the sun shining and all, but it seems to function intermittently. when it fails (normally on a hot day)the button for making the roof go down doesnt blink red, or even amber in the event i perhaps left the roof shelf up. it just doesnt do anything as though its dead. I presume that theres some sort of electronic fault rather than mechanical.
if I use the allen key to release the roof, the button starts blinking and then the roof goes down if i press it. however once its down unless i mannualy move the roof about an inch upwards it wont go back up again.
sorry for the long post , just trying to be clear on the problems.
