Help please- which part needs replacing??

Hi there all

I'm wondering if anyone knows which part i need to replace. the button spring in the centre consol has broken and not sure if just the panel needs replacing or the whole console?? Also does anyone know what this button does?? it appears to have no function to me

OK - but as you say it's practically useless so you could always just glue it in and avoid the need to buy and replace until oyu can pick up a near free one from a breakers.
 
The button is used to release the convertible top when closing it, (the convertible top moves up slightly). This is used on the non-motorized tops.
Also, when a motorized top can not be closed due to power failure, the button is used to release the convertible top, (just as the non-motorized).

BSVA - All top in the UK are fully powered. It was not offered as a manual here.
