Help please- on holiday and roof stuck!

Did not check the boot sides were clear and my camera bag was there!
Roof opnenes so far and is now stuck, crushing the camera bag. Pressing the roof button to reverse it does not do anything, just a warning ding.

Any advice would be very much appreciated .

Ok I waited 5 minutes with the engine off and managed to reverse it!
Lesson learnt and not opening the roof again until we get hope to check for damage !

I’m normally very careful to check the roof wells but holiday mode must have made me complacent !

I read this tip in another post, so glad it worked and may help others. Think it resets the warning?

We are in the middle of the countryside in a Airbnb, not sure what we would have done to catch the ferry tomorrow morning! Had visions of driving along with the roof/boot open all the way, driving slowly, whilst everyone else is laughing at the bloke with the BMW convertible .
Not sure a local mechanic could have helped or if the AA would come out. (Just checked and I have not got international AA cover anyway)!
