I'm at a friends house this weekend, he has INPA, NCS, GT1. I want to code my lights to give audible signal with alarm activation/deactivation.
We don't know how to do it or which program to use.
Any advice welcome.

Inpa isn't for coding. You want to use NCS or sss progman for coding.

Or an even easier way to do it if you have an Android phone is by connecting the obd2 cable to your phone using a USB to micro USB adapter and downloading the Carly for BMW app. It's not a cheap app at around £38 but it does make coding so much easier! There are certain things that can still only be done with NCS, like M-track mode.

What you want to do is done with NCS - Sorry if this sounds a bit harsh but if neither of you even know which program to use I would suggest you leave well alone until you have done some serious reading up here http://www.bmwcoding.com/forumdisplay.php?2-Beginner-s-Lounge
It is very easy to brick a module and expensive to replace if you get it wrong.

Thanks lads, we left it alone. I'll leave it to the experts.

Like I said, check out the Carly app. I've coded before with both NCS and SSS and though they get the job done they do need some knowledge and some balls. With the Carly, you just connect, scan for modules, tick want you want to code, code, cycle ignition and you're done. No experts needed

Is the Carly app as straight forward to use as it seems, an does it work with any odb2 BT adaptor

It really is as easy as I've said. I've used it to code passenger window one touch up and indicators flash on arming the alarm. There were many other options but I didn't need to try them as they were for coding things that were already set on my car.

I use the obd2 cable that came with a NCS, SSS, inpa package I bought from eBay a few years ago. When using the app it tells you something like using a bluetooth adapter will not give you the same coding abilities.

Coding with SSS is really simple and not the big issue that you are making it out to be!

True it's not difficult, just slow! Well at least that's my view on. Imagine taking SSS, sticking it on your phone and making the user interface a modern app, speeding up the connection process and then adding a fault code reader. That's basically what this app is.
