Help Please!!! Brake issue!

Guessing he means stability control, on our M's they're both operated together. DSC grabs the brakes accordingly in order to stop excessive understeer or oversteeer hence they can overheat if you constantly drive in a manner that triggers it.

As above!

The DSC defines "the limit" as being markedly more tame than I do, so on a track it grabs the brakes, cuts the power, and generally sobs like a little girl! Given that I rarely exceed the limits of traction when DSC is switched off (except intentionally :D ), and I can lap faster with it off than I can with it on, I think my definition is better :P

Interestingly, even before then light flickers the DSC seems to be exerting an influence. When pressing on a bit with DSC switched on, but not pushing sufficiently hard to illuminate the DSC light, the car performs much more tamely than than it does when driving in the same fashion but with DSC switched off.

Here we go again!!! Rear right squealing again. Booked into BMW tonight...

So;

Caliper issue?
Handbrake issue?
Auto adjust issue? Doesn't sqeal when cold but you can felt it grabbing when slowing down to a halt.

Just about lost faith in this car! Warranty better cover it!

As i said a few weeks ago ! Have had same problem on my last few Bm's , seized caliper ! No point in cleaning it up slidders etc ! Your only buying time , Get them to change the caliper ! Hope it is covered with your warrenty.

In my opinion unless the calliper itself somehow got damaged (very unlikely i would think) a refurbish will make it as good as new.

But according to the above, they don't sell the kits. It's a new caliper or nowt.

You can get the kits from the states but don't know if it makes sense money wise.

Ali, there's something mildly ironic about you owning a French hatchback and a BMW and about which is proving the most reliable...

(yeah yeah I know, stereotypes)

Ally, you're right!! The Clio has not let me down once!! (Poss. jinxed it now) and the Z4 has had it's fair share of niggles! Not what i expect of a 43k car!

So; update, they have adjusted the handbrake slightly. But also are fitting a new OSF calliper...Maybe damaged when it overheated last time around? Warranty picking up the tab fortunately!

Or maybe the caliper was already playing up from the beginning
