HELP OEM SPOILER REMOVAL

Hey guys

Does anyone actually know how to remove the OEM spoiler that comes with the 3.0i series (2003-2005)? I've been meaning to take mine off and with a bit of research, a heatgun and string seems to be the go. There isnt much info on this, so would like to know what im getting myself into.

When removed, will the paint on the boot where the spoiler was still be visible all would it be obvious that there was a spoiler there?

Not sure how it is removed but have you thought of sourcing a boot lid from a breaker and selling yours
 
If it's like the E85 one then you will need a respray. BMW use a glue called Betalink which you cannot remove. The 3 Series might not be the same. Best to look on a 3 series forum TBH.

I swapped the boot on my E85 though to remove the spoiler.
