Hi, Gents and Ladies.
Newbie here. although, felt compelled to join this amazing forum as-off reading the very helpful indeed topics and info regarding our little Zeds. thank you all very much indeed.
If a dare ask, and this is appropriate for a newbie to ask for help just after joining the forum. I do hope this not taking Libby's...
Well, I have an issue with one of my Zeds... The car is a just a wee E85 2.0i roadster with the N46 engine.
I have read on many occasions of hesitation and flat- spots on acceleration only after warm-up of the engine. my car cruises ok at 70 mph on the motorway roads. however, it has a flat-spot and little hesitation in mid-range.
Here below are the things I have tried to help solve the problem (Sadly I don't own a code reader as of yet) I shall purchase one soon.
1) Oil and filter change correct viscosity oil (Castrol edge)
2) cleaned and tested Vanos solenoids and appear to be in good shape (although no! expert)
3) new spark plugs (correct type)
4) all 4 new plug ignition pack-leads
5) new air filter also cleaned the airbox and throttle body.
6) New MAF sensor.
All work has been done by myself.
There are no! lights on the dash or any (no! warning lights) car dives okay just flat-spots when warm.
Any help is greatly appreciated. Totally understand I need a code reader. any advice on the best code read to buy for this car
Thank you Mick...
