I recently bought another Z4 and this piece has broken off in the parcel shelf area. I’ve taken these photos through the rear window. The previous owner had duct tapped it up but it was still catching, ripping off the duct tape and then more had to be applied. So after 2 weeks of ownership I’ve decided to tackle it but im stuck. I can get it back in to place where i think it should go but i need the correct screws, though where i think it should be sitting with the middle screw hole linned up it still catches the hood. Does anyone have a diagram of how this should sit? I’ve found an image online of it sitting flush (ignore the red circle).
Also...is this really needed? Can i remove it and everything will still work ok, whats it purpose?
