Hey - I set up a poll here rather than "Other Marques" 'cos it's a bit busier in here :)

Anyway, been thinking about changing my wheels for ages, but was waiting until my tyres were run down before doing something. What do you reckon - get my OEM 17" wheels refurbed in "shadow chrome" (light grey really) similar to the pic, maybe go a bit darker with the refurb, or get a set of new 18" instead, I love these - TSW Vortex. The new wheels will take 6 weeks to come from the US in the offset I need.

Costs - to refurb with new tyres will be £650 and the new wheels and tyres will be £1200-ish.

This is a comparison between the TSW 18" wheels and the OEM wheels refurbed in grey.

This is a comparison between the original wheels and a really dark finish.

What do you reckon, thanks

tough call wondermike.. Can you colour the second photo to show what the grey would look like from the angle..

OK I slipped another pic in the middle of those two, it's not ideal but I never kept the original one I did.

Any significant weight difference between the wheels?
The 18s will be a bit heavier than stock, about the same as the Mercedes AMG wheels so not too bad.

TSW's all the way! (FTW, if I wanna be American... whoop woop, holla holla!) ;)

Is it just me or do the OEM's darkened just look like they have been coated in brake dust?

That's the appeal TBH, no more scrubbing wheels for ages, suppose I'm being lazy :D

You'd have to chrome them.
They do come in chrome but I thought they would be too bling bling 8)

If you go the 18" will they be any wider then oem?
Only 1/2 inch on the rear, tyres would go from 245/40 17 to 245/35 18 or maybe I would put 255s on instead, but no wider. Fronts go from 225/45 17 to 225/40 18, same as the AMG upgrade sizes.

Hmmm, not sure if the poll is going how I thought it would :scratchhead:
