Help me diagnose my misfire (and EML)

My car has had an intermittent misfire for a while now. It is no longer intermittent and the EML light is now on.
I have read the codes and they are:

Now, I am pretty good with a spanner and will try to fix the issue myself but I have absolutely no idea how to diagnose what the issue is so any help will be very much appreciated.
Any ideas where to start?

The only fault you seem to have currently present is the DISA. Trouble is I’m not sure which one the diagnostics refers to when it says no.2, so I would start with the one that’s easiest to get at! (The other requires removal of the inlet manifold). Quite rare for the DISA to fail on the N52 so I would check the connector is all good first before splashing out on a new one.

Thanks for pointing me in that direction. A bit of google searching has led me to believe it is the disa valve in the inlet manifold. I guess it’s a pretty big job then.
Would this be the cause of the misfire?

I would have thought flat spots more than a misfire with a faulty disa? :?

Well your diagnostic is clearly showing a fault with the DISA but indeed this may be a separate issue to the misfire which could well be a coil pack (assuming the plugs are good).

Today i swapped over the coil packs between cylinder 2 and 3 and the misfire code has moved to cylinder 2. I have ordered a new coil pack and will look into the other codes once I have cleared the misfire.

Get in!

I would replace all 6 coil packs for what they cost. Peace of mind and all that.
Agree, I replaced 1 due to a misfire after I changed the spark plugs then another coil went almost immediately. Change all six and they are all the same age. Good peace of mind.

Probably good advice and I will do just that once I have sorted the DISA fault. The coil pack was only about £18 from carpartsforless so buying another 5 won’t break the bank.

Quick update - I replaced the coil pack and the misfire and lumpy idle are completely gone and the EML light has also disappeared from the dash. I haven’t plugged in my laptop yet but I think all codes may be cleared now. I’ll try to get the codes read tonight if it ever stops raining.
