Help me choose my Z4

Hi all,
I'm new here yet I'm cheekily asking for help!
I've been wanting to make the move to a rwd car for a while now, and have of course chosen to go BMW :D
Been through so many hot hatches its not even funny.

I've decided to go for a Z4 as I've always loved the looks and can finally afford one... here lies my problem!
After selling my current car I'm going to have about 7k cash.
From what I can see that means either a decent 3.0 pre-facelift or a 2.0 face lift (looks nicer) :/
HOWEVER I was cheeky the other day and popped down to BMW and they had a coupe there
It was safe to say I fell in love within seconds.

Here is where I need your help, I can stretch my finance to 10K for the right car, do I:
A- Get a nice 3.0 facelift roadster
B- Get a high mileage coupe
C- Go for this :P DAMAGE REPAIRED :( http://www4.autotrader.co.uk/classi...z4/postcode/cv312lx/body-type/coupe?logcode=p

Thanks for any help in advance

If your budget won't stretch to more then I wouldnt go for an M as the servicing is quite expensive. I have a 3.0 litre coupe and it has been cheap to run apart from petrol. No reason why a high miler should be a problem engine wise but there maybe other issues like suspension and bushes that might require some inspection. I wouldn't go for the 2 litre. After hot hatches it might seem a bit flat.

Option A for me too, though no surprise there. Coupes are holding their price a little better than roadsters, so it's likely you will get a better spec and/or lower mileage roadster for the money. High mileage shouldn't put you off mind, you just need to be pickier about condition and service history. And of course the roadster is a proper Z :P

Personally I'd probably never buy a damage repaired car, especially not an M. You'd need a lot of documentation to give you the confidence it is 100%, and I bet most owners don't have enough, if any. But as said, if you are stretching your budget anyway then an M would not be a wise choice - seen quite a few people buy one then sell on within a year because they have underestimated the running costs.

This thread should be in the newbies section, but I am sure a mod will move it. Welcome to the forum

Im not to worried about the engine in a high mile car, its everything else. My manager at work has a 530 E39 with 150,000.
The engine is sweet but everything else keeps falling off haha, in the last month its needed all new suspension bushes, 2 springs (cracked), waterpump and radiator. The list goes on.
So I was trying to get a low miler to limit my future spend. Im not too worried about servicing costs on the M as I use a good third party garage and its only just been serviced :D.

Sorry didnt realised I posted in the wrong section
I think the main reason I like the coupes so much is there rarity, I see hundreds of Z4 roadsters round here, but the other day at the BMW garage was the first time Ive ever seen a coupe in the flesh :D
Also I'm a massive fan of 240z and Triumph GT6, I feel the Z4 coupe is the closest modern day alternative :D
A 240z with M54 running gear would be my dream car

Coupes aren't so bad, depends what you want - I wanted the top down experience whenever possible, on a car that is my daily driver. If I wanted it as a weekend toy and wasn't bothered about the roof then I'd probably agree the (relative) rarity becomes more of a consideration. Make sure you drive both

Its bloody cold!!!!!
Sell the coupe before the summer and get a roadster then :P
Or is top down possible in winter??
