Help ///M not starting

Make sure you switch that little light off Ruby :poke:

Seriously though, could be you might be requiring a new battery if you had that one a while, they do get tired over time. I have just replaced mine as it was showing signs of struggling to start my zed when cold.

Hi Ruby,
If it was just a flat battery run down by your 'little light' they will start the car off a boost battery (or jump start it off their vehicle) and then advise you to go for a 30 minute drive up the motorway to charge it sufficiently that it'll start again on its own.
If it is a dead battery they may well have one suitable on board or go and get one that you can buy.

+1

Well there ought to be some little beep warning me that I left it on.

...for blind people :D

Bless you Rubes, I'd have helped you if I was nearer :friends:

Thank you. Felt a bit helpless and no one I knew seemed to want to go out of their way which has put me in a strop.

Paid £70 for bosch battery few weeks back fitted myself, car does lots of short runs, usually stick it on charge overnight at least once a week. Hope you get sorted soon.

How much are new batteries then?

I replaced mine recently - it was the original battery, so yours may be too as they last a long time but 6/7 years is value for money. If you look on top of the connections on the battery (can't remember which one) you will see 4 numbers stamped - the ones on mine were xx06, so it was manufactured in 2006 ; I can't remember if the first two were week numbers or month numbers. If yours is almost as old it's probably worth replacing it soon. Not sure about the M, but my new battery cost £106 IIRC. Get the breakdown chap to write down the exact type of battery you need to buy if it needs one but he's not got one with him.

It was flat battery sorted very quickly. The same man had come out to look at my Polo a few weeks back at doctors surgery. I was like "so this is my other car". He reckons it was flat because of the little light. Said to not bother with new battery unless it happened again. I've made it to my mates in Camberley. I think it's been running 45 mins. Can I turn off now?

Yup, that should do the trick.
If not, get your AA man out to take you to get a new battery. If your car fails and they can fix by the road with a part, they'll replace the part for you.
No labour for battery fitting:-)
You still have to buy the part though.
( oh, and don't park in front of the Polo when you get home )

Mine died earlier in the year, left the boot ajar one night and the battery flattened. It was never quite right afterwards so got a new one a couple of months later. My Z is 7 years old...

Glad you got it sorted 8)

I have to ask. What exactly is the "little light" ?

Glad you are sorted, double trouble when your other car was blocked in!

Hopefully it's OK now but that's a shocking lack of gallantry, maybe it's London thing? :oldman:

Here in the SW helping out can be so-so, but I've been spending quite a bit of time in the NE recently and am genuinely amazed at the lengths people go to helping out complete strangers, let alone mates! Best breakdown up't North next time :)

It's the light near the rear view mirror on drivers side. Was looking for my house keys in handbag. There really ought to be a warning so I don't do this again!
