thanks for your reply. Are you sure about that? I found on a bmw forum that brown is negative, so i plugged the wires like that(brown negative and black positive) and its working fine.
I've not got any special knowledge on BMW wiring but I've never seen brown negative and black positive anywhere before. A bulb doesn't care which way round the current flows anyways, it'll light whatever
You are wrong guys. BMW has adopted a convention of using brown as the earth and that's what it is on dozens of componets in my Zed. I've wired enough inc. the headlights to know for sure.
stef787 - you were right so hope you didn't go out and switch them
