Help - in Germany and had to use E10 super petrol.

And after hour driving my emissions lights has come on!!! I checked and BMW have said this petrol is ok for all cars but has anyone used this petrol and had similar probs??? Engine is running smooth as ever and no unexpected noises etc from anywhere have driven over 100 mile since light came on.

Will pop into BMW garage when I see one but I am on the romantic rd and haven't come across one yet....

HELP!!!!
 
I checked that. Do u reckon the lights come on due to the petrol though????? Also when I fill up asinine an use normal petrol, will this reset or do I need to get BMW to turn it off?????
 
Mine did this shortly after changing fuel brands. O2 sensor was replaced under warranty, but from now I only use one type of fuel.

It does seem to be a fairly common issue these senors failing though.
 
Hi Pilly, I had a small problem with my 3 series with E10 aswell though I havn't tried E10 in the Z yet. Almost all the garages round here have the standard super and the super plus available in addition to the E10 due to a backlash from German motorists. You will have to look around at the garage as often theres just the one pump for super. If you can let me know where you are/heading I will try and point you in the right direction for a dealer, there are plenty around. Be warned though, they can be very expensive here!
 
Well.......

Drove for about 130miles. Parked up and looked around town, got something to eat. Cane back to car, started her up and lights gone out!!!! Drove about another 40/50 miles and nothing. So hopefully panic over

Cheers for all the replies. Of the Dachau concentration camp tomorrow then if to BMW world.
