Hi,

I know a few of you guys have de gingered. I have a clear pair of hockey's and have just finished opening a spare headlight to practice on - none of the guides tell you how to remove the inner reflected (silver or black) parts of the headlights. I haven't cut through the tabs that attach them to the back of the light - should I?

Many thanks

Oli

Sussed it,

The 4 tabs were glued so a right pita, but it does also help if you remove the indicator bulbs

There are already extensive write ups on this. Like these:

I just couldn't figure out how to remove the inner headlight - the first link says you "just pull it" :headbang:

There were actually 2 or 3 screws and after removing them it was still a pain because the tabs were glued in,

See the long one in this pic:

There are 4 of these and I think they were only designed to go in, not out?

I don't claim to be an expert but I managed using a screwdriver to get rid of the glue they were held in with and persuade them out - happy to stand corrected if there's a better way.

Nb - one of the clear hockey's that I scourged didn't have 2 of the locking tabs in the right places:

No matter though as it is held in place securely anyway:

All in all, a long bloody day!

I just sliced through on mine. I think :? Was a wee while ago now, but a very satisfying mod that took 8 yrs off the car :D
