Collective minds, please help me identify what’s wrong.

If I drive for more than about 20 mins, the amplifier in the boot (black box, about the size of a small cereal box, near the battery) gets REALLY hot and I get a horrible electrical burning smell in the car.

Sound system is still working fine and issue seems isolated to just this part (eg the battery isn’t also getting hot).

Ideas on cause/fix?

Stu

*edit - I’ve had a quad conversion so I did wonder if heat was leaking into the boot and causing the amp to get hot but a) it’s only the amp tha gets hot despite the battery being in the same area and b) the exhaust pipe is wrapped in heat tape so there shouldn’t be much heat coming from the pipe :sos: :scratchhead:

Have a look at https://thecarreviews.club/causes-car-amplifier-overheat/ for some common reasons amps can get hot
